So the question is not just whether the product works — it is whether the people and company behind it are worth a multi-year partnership.
A new brand. Not a new software company.
ChemCenter is a new product from the Norwegian software company Netpower. Founded in 1995, we have spent decades building and operating our own software products. We’re not a startup entering the software market. Building new technology and bringing it to market is what we do.
Over the years, our product portfolio has evolved from web platforms and business systems to quality management, compliance and chemical management software. We look for industries where existing solutions are outdated, fragmented or simply not built for the way people actually work. Then we work closely with customers and industry experts to build something better.
Today, our software products are used in more than 200 organisations and support thousands of users every day. They have been operating in production environments for years and continue to evolve through ongoing investment, development and customer collaboration.
Our teams are deliberately small. That allows us to move quickly, make decisions fast and turn ideas into working software without layers of bureaucracy. Innovation isn’t a department at Netpower — it’s part of how we operate.

Chemical management is not new to us
ChemCenter is not our first chemical management platform. In 2021, we launched Workplace Safety, a modern chemical management solution now used by more than 100 organisations across a wide range of industries.
We have spent years working with safety data sheets, chemical inventories, risk assessments, substitution processes and regulatory compliance. Our team includes professionals with formal chemistry education as well as practical experience from laboratories and the energy sector.
Through Workplace Safety, we gained experience across industries with different chemical management requirements. At the same time, our close collaboration with companies operating in the offshore energy sector made one thing clear: chemical management for offshore operations is a discipline of its own, with unique workflows, regulatory requirements and operational challenges.
By the time ChemCenter was conceived, we already had years of experience building chemical management software and working alongside organisations that handle chemicals every day.
ChemCenter was not a starting point. It was the next step.
Designed alongside offshore operators
ChemCenter was developed in Stavanger, Norway’s energy capital, in close collaboration with senior HSE and chemical management specialists working at operator companies on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Together, we identified a common challenge: critical chemical management processes were spread across multiple systems, creating unnecessary complexity and manual work. While core business systems remained important, companies lacked a dedicated platform built specifically for chemical management for offshore operations.
Throughout the development process, we worked directly with the people responsible for approving, assessing and managing chemicals in offshore operations. Through workshops, prototype reviews and continuous feedback, they helped shape the platform around real-world workflows, regulatory requirements and operational needs.
The result is a platform designed by software specialists and pressure-tested by the people who use it every day.
The insight behind ChemCenter
Working alongside operators taught us an important lesson: there is no single “best practice” workflow for chemical management.
These are complex organisations with different approval structures, responsibilities and operational requirements. Trying to force every company into the same workflow was never going to work.
That insight shaped some of the most important design decisions in ChemCenter. Instead of rigid workflows, the platform was built to be configurable, allowing workflows, approvals, forms and integrations to be adapted to the way each organisation operates.
